Platform Engineer

Remote (Global)

About Alauda

Alauda is the sovereign, cloud-native and AI enterprise platform trusted by 500+ enterprises across four continents — including Southeast Asia's largest bank and one of Africa's largest banking groups. Founded in 2014 by former Microsoft Azure core engineers and headquartered in Singapore, we unify containers, virtual machines, AI workloads, and autonomous operations on open standards. 2M+ vCores in production. 99.99% availability. No vendor lock-in.

The Role

As a Platform Engineer at Alauda, you'll develop the tooling, automation, and infrastructure components that keep our Kubernetes platform production-grade at scale. This is a development role on the R&D team — you'll write code in Go and Python to improve platform stability, performance, and observability, and contribute to the technical direction of our PaaS products. You'll work deep in the Kubernetes ecosystem, building the systems that our enterprise customers depend on every day.

What You'll Do

  • Develop tooling and automation to improve the stability, performance, and observability of large-scale Kubernetes clusters
  • Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging components (Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Elasticsearch)
  • Contribute to architecture planning for Alauda's PaaS products and evaluate emerging cloud-native technologies
  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues across Linux, containers, networking, and storage layers

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience working with Linux systems (CentOS, Ubuntu) — strong at debugging, performance analysis, and configuration at the OS level
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container runtimes (containerd, Docker)
  • Solid development skills in Go and/or Python, including building, testing, and packaging applications
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and logging stacks — Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, or similar
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities — you dig into root causes, not just symptoms

Nice to Have

  • Experience operating Kubernetes clusters at scale (50+ nodes)
  • Experience with VictoriaMetrics or other time-series databases
  • Familiarity with OpenShift or other enterprise Kubernetes distributions
  • Ability to read and write technical documentation in English and participate in English-language meetings
  • Contributions to open-source projects in the cloud-native ecosystem
